Liz (BE/CH)

Liz is a multimedia artist based in Bern. She creates soundscapes heavily influenced by post-club & noise. Counterposing collision and the complementary – lumbering industrial sludge aside indecipherable robotic voice, idyllic ambient sonics versus hyperactive breaks. Liz’s journey through the world of electronic music has been marked by being part and collaborating with various local collectives. She is a founding member of the swiss music label & collective “Herzkern”. With Herzkern Liz has contributed to creating unique nightlife experiences with their works ranging from curating & booking artists, scenographic design of club spaces & awareness work. Together with Lenor, they formed the duo project “Lektra” in which they had a strong focus on combining acoustic elements vocals & guitar with electronic hardcore structures. They performed several live shows together and released tracks under labels such as herzkern, tsum records & hypercore. Their own works and styles, especially the solo projects, have been and are still constantly evolving. What remains is a fascination for abstract, weird, sometimes harsh soundscapes. Recently they have been interested in the correlation of visual and sonic elements. Be it in Visual-Audio experiments or Audio-Reactive Visual Performances, liz has a flair for experimental realms.
